Itinerary

Saturday March 6
Today we depart from Chicago on our flight to Rome. Enjoy superb in-flight services, entertainment and meals as you cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Sunday March 7
We arrive to Rome at FiumicinoAirport.  Immediately after passport control, meet your representative who will assist you to collect your luggage, proceed through customs and board your private bus to our hotel in Rome.  Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. (D) Overnight - Hotel - Rome

Monday March 8
Breakfast in your hotel.  Today we view the vast collection of art and antiquities in the Vatican, the Candelabra Gallery, Map gallery and the Tapestries.  Visit the Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica, and St. Peter’s Square. Continue with visits to the Coliseum, ancient Forum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.  Return to our hotel.  In the evening, we will enjoy local cuisine in a nearby restaurant. Tuesday March 9
Breakfast in your hotel.  This morning we leave Rome and take the route through the regions of Lazio and Campania.  We stop for a visit to the Casamari Abbey, which lies, on a rocky hill sloping down to the torrent Amaseno. Continue along the enchanting coast to Sorrento.  Before we reach Sorrento, we stop for a visit to the Montecassino Abbey, the oldest monastery in the world.  Check-into our hotel. Wednesday March 10
Breakfast in hotel.  This day will be an exciting day to the world’s most famous and beautiful island - The Isle of Capri.  We depart for the island on a hydrofoil jet.  Explore Capri’s historic legacy and natural beauty.  In the 19th century, Alex Munthe, an eccentric Swedish doctor, built the beautiful Villa San Michele atop the ruins of Capri’s Roman palaces and villas.  A shady garden offers splendid views of the island.  Visit Piazza Umberto, where there are several open-air cafes.  View the gardens of Augustus overlooking the famed Faraglioni Rocks and Marina Piccola where Grace Fields once lived.  Time and weather permitting, an optional visit to the Blue Grotto is possible.  In the evening, we will have a pizza party in a local restaurant. Thursday March 11
Breakfast in hotel.  Today we journey along the spectacular Amalfi coast from Positano to Ravello.  We stop for a panoramic view up the road to view Positano with its white cubic houses.  We stop in the historic town of Amalfi to visit the Cathedral and continue through deep ravines and majestic hills leading to lovely Ravello, dramatically overlooking the Gulf of Sorrento.  Visit the 13th century Villa Rufolo.  Return to our hotel. Friday March 12
Breakfast in hotel.  In 79AD, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the city of Pompeii in a blanket of ash and pumice stone.  For centuries the town lay abandoned until the well-preserved ruins were unearthed.  We take a slow walk through ancient streets of Pompeii where we can see baths, forums and villas built by the Romans.  Afterwards, we drive to the only active volcano on the European mainland that dominates the Bay of Naples.  In the evening, we will enjoy a dinner and Musical Show in the Theatre of Sorrento depicting cultural roots through song and dance. Saturday March 13
Breakfast in hotel.  Depart for one of Italy’s most beautiful cities, Naples.  Landmark sights include Teatro San Carlo, Italy’s oldest and largest opera house, and Castel Nuovo.  Visit the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, where most of the treasures from Pompeii and Herculaneum have been transferred for safe keeping.  Return to our hotel. Sunday March 14
Breakfast in hotel.  Today is free for rest and relaxation on your own.... Enjoy!  In the evening, we will have our Farewell Gala Dinner in a local restaurant. (B, D Overnight - Sorrento Hotel

Monday March 15
Breakfast in hotel.  Today we transfer to NaplesAirport for our return flight back to the United States. (B)

TERMS & CONDITIONS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

RESERVATIONS & SCHEDULE of PAYMENTS: All reservations for this tour are confirmed upon receipt of your registration form and a non-refundable deposit of $400.00 per person, which is due NOVEMBER 1, 2003.   Final payment is due JANUARY 10, 2004.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS & SITES: All hotel accommodations are based on double occupancy with private bath.  Participants without a roommate will have to pay the single room surcharge.    The sequence of visits to sites may change according to the discretion of the tour operator and guides if they deem necessary.   In case sequence is changed, all items on the itinerary will still be covered.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Cancellations made after NOVEMBER 1, 2003 are non-refundable.    Final payment is fully refundable, (excluding the non-refundable deposits of $ 400.00 per person), until JANUARY 10, 2004.   Cancellations after JANUARY 10, 2004 become non-refundable and can only be recovered through a travel insurance policy.    All cancellations must be made in writing to Heavenly Tours.  Travel insurance is highly recommended.

UNUSED SERVICES:No refunds will be made for unused touring, meals or any other program components stated in the itinerary.

PASSPORT/VISA/VACCINATIONS:Valid passport is required.  No vaccinations or visas are needed.

FEES NOT INCLUDED: Passport Fees, Travel Insurance, meals, drinks, wines, liquors and beverages not included in itinerary, items of personal nature; telephone, laundry and sites other than those mentioned.  Tips to guides, drivers and hotel staff are not included.  U.S. and Italian departure taxes are not included and will be invoiced to you.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel Insurance is optional; however, we highly suggest and recommend the purchase of insurance.  It is suggested that the insurance premium be paid directly to the insurance company at the time of your initial deposit in order to cover the “pre-existing conditions clause”.

TAXES & FEES INCLUDED: Entrance fees to all sights on scheduled tour. Porterage is also included. 

AIR/LAND FARES: Air and land rates of this tour are based on current tariffs in effect for today, September 17, 2003.    Rates are based on a group of 20 paying passengers.  Flight tickets for this tour are based on NONREFUNDABLE airfare.  In case of currency fluctuations of more than 3%, we reserve the right to adjust the price of  the tour accordingly.  The price of the tour is based on the Euro.

PURCHASE OF MERCHANDISE: Heavenly International Tours is not to be held responsible for any items purchased during the tour, not for their quality nor their prices.  All and any purchase will be the sole responsibility of the buyer.

METHOD OF PAYMENTS: Check or money orders only, made payable to Heavenly International Tours.

LUGGAGE:  Each person is allowed (1) suitcase only, which will be handled for you throughout the tour.  Maximum size is 62” high and maximum weight is 70 pounds.

TOUR DATES:As in any Trans-Atlantic flight, tour dates may be slightly changed according to the requirements of participating air carriers.  Please allow some flexibility.  In the event dates and times of flights are changed, Heavenly Tours will not be held responsible and refunds will not be available based on this reason.
